Vice City San Andreas

Friday, January 28th, 2005

Well, I don’t know how they do it, but Rockstar continues to put out a bigger badder and better version of the all time great Vice City….or is that Grand Theft Auto? Whatever you want to call it, and however far back you go with the game is really irrelevant. San Andreas is clearly the best installment. Playing previous versions like Vice City will clearly improve your game play, but you can still learn all of the moves…with a little time. Oh, and the game will let you know just how long you have been playing. It has stats on just about everything you can think of, and then a bunch of things that you never have.

At first, San Andreas looks very intimidating, probably because I have played all previous versions of the game. The map that is included is easily 4 times the size of the map in Vice City and that map was easily 2 to 3 times the size of the Grand Theft Auto III map. Just about everything else is improved in the game, the rendering, the movement, driving, interaction with other characters…and there is two player mode as well. Plus, for those of you who could not stand dying because you landed in the water in Vice City, CJ (your name in San Andreas) can now swim.

I can probably go on for much longer than you would like to read. The bottom line: San Andreas is everything it was built up to be and more. Rockstar rocks.

All Clad Grill Pan Reviews

Thursday, January 13th, 2005

We had a small dinner party last night and it was my first opportunity to try out my new All Clad square grill pan. We had a new recipe for “Steak Diana” which is basically some Filet Mignons seasoned with cracked pepper, kosher salt, and Dijon mustard. I seasoned them up, put them in the fridge and let them marinade for a few hours. When I was ready for the steaks, I put the pan on the stove and set it to high. The first thing I noticed is that the All Clad pan is virtually the exact size of the square gill on our gas stove…I am sure that is no coincidence as All Clad is not new to the scene. I let it sit there for a few minutes on high to get nice and hot. I pulled out the steaks and grilled them on one side for about 10 minutes and then flipped once and cooked for about 5 minutes on the other side. These were some pretty beefy filets and they came out perfectly medium-rare. I could fit 6 huge Filet Mignons on the grill pan…and I would definitely recommend the square model. To be totally honest, once I saw how well it was proportioned, I immediately wished we had the two burner model. The steaks were seared perfectly with big fat grill marks on them and were perfectly cooked…I am really, really impressed with this pan. Clean up was a joke. I let the pan cool until the next day (it was a dinner party) and then just ran some hot water on it and hit it with the srub brush lightly. Voila. Here is a link to all of the All Clad grill pan reviews.

Uniden Cordless Phone Reviews

Tuesday, January 11th, 2005

I recently purchased a new set of cordless phones recently and I went with the Uniden phones for a number of reasons. But, mostly I did it for the fact that the Uniden has a great speakerphone built into the handset (this is a cordless phone). So, I can be sitting on the couch, typing on the computer or cooking in the kitchen and talking on speakerphone. Plus the speakerphone is really quite good. I purchased the 2.4 GHz model and it works great. If I had to do it again, I would buy the 5.8 GHz, why? I don’t know, I am a tech dork that is why. But, all kidding aside, the Uniden cordless phones have operated flawlessly for over 4 months now. I would recommend them to anyone.

You can read more Uniden cordless phone reviews on our Uniden page.
